Incubator Guide — Grow a Chicken Fighter

The Incubator is the late-game tool that separates fighters from layers. One chicken keeps producing eggs while your roster runs PIT and TOWER — you just have to place the right chicken for the right egg.

Why it matters

Before the Incubator, every egg you wanted required keeping the right laying chicken in your coop — and every minute spent farming was a minute your fighters were idle. The Incubator runs one dedicated layer in the background, so your TOWER and PIT progress never has to pause for egg production again.

How to Unlock the Incubator

The Incubator is a late-game building with two requirements, both confirmed by community reports:

If the price looks steep, treat it as an end-game efficiency investment rather than a Day-1 goal. See how to make money fast for the fastest ways to reach the buy-in.

How the Incubator Works

You place exactly one chicken inside. While it is in the Incubator, it keeps producing the egg type that chicken naturally lays, and you are free to run your normal fighters. The core loop becomes:

  1. Pick the egg you want to farm next.
  2. Place the chicken that lays that egg into the Incubator.
  3. Keep pushing PIT and TOWER with the rest of your roster.
  4. Collect eggs, hatch, and fuse when you have a pair.

The whole point is directional laying: the Incubator lets you aim your passive egg production at one specific target instead of hoping the coop throws you the egg you need. Combine it with the laying rates explained in our Fertility Gene guide.

Which Chicken to Place for Each Egg

Community testing points to these placements depending on the egg you are hunting:

Egg TargetChicken to PlaceNotes
Colossus EggFounder RoosterBest placement during the Colossus week event.
Fortune EggBaron or Goose familyTargets the luck-buff pool. See the Fortune Egg page.
Cursed EggStone Face or 404 familySee the 404 Chick and Cursed Egg pages.
Haunt EggZombie familyPairs with the Haunt Egg hatch pool.
Thunder / Royal / Void100% egg-shell farmersStatic Chick (Thunder), Rooster of Fortune (Royal) and Probe (Void) are reported to guarantee their egg type — ideal Incubator fodder.

The 100% shell farmers are the most efficient Incubator picks when they are available: they remove RNG from the egg pool entirely. Cross reference the egg route & laying tree to see where each one enters your collection.

Incubator Rules That Save You Money

Community reports on what not to do:

Colossus Week Strategy

During the Chicken Boss / Colossus week, the Incubator becomes a Colossus farming machine:

  1. Place your highest-level Founder Rooster in the Incubator before the event week starts.
  2. Keep your best damage dealer in the Chicken Boss fight for event eggs.
  3. A second Founder fused as a donor is reported to speed up Colossus hatches — check the Fusion Guide for donor rules first.
  4. Hatch in bulk when the pool is boosted, and funnel the best outcomes into your fighting roster.

August 2026 Patch — What Changed

A patch around August 17, 2026 fixed a fast-rebirth exploit: players parked their strongest chicken in the Incubator, rebirth, then immediately retrieved a max-level chicken to skip the early grind. That loophole is gone. The Incubator still works normally for passive, directional egg production — it just no longer preserves levels across rebirth. Plan around rebirth timing accordingly.

Incubator FAQ

Does the Incubator reset on rebirth? No — it is a permanent building once purchased. Your chickens inside still reset with the roster.

Is 300,000 Money the exact price? Community reports put the one-time purchase around 300,000 Money. The exact figure can shift with balance patches, so read the in-game shop tag before buying.

Can I place any chicken in the Incubator? Yes, one chicken at a time. Which chicken you place controls which egg type is produced.

Is the Incubator better than buying eggs? For long-term collection goals, yes — it farms the exact egg you need while your fighters stay active. For a single quick hatch, buying an egg may be faster. See how to hatch eggs for the egg-opening rules.
