The Core Rule of Progression
You cannot buy high-tier eggs directly from the starting shop. Instead, you must hatch specific “Bridge Chickens” that possess the genetic trait to passively lay the next egg tier in your coop.
The Master Egg Progression Tree
Below is the verified progression hierarchy across the 4 primary evolutionary branches:
How to Accelerate Egg Laying Speed
Having the right chickens in your coop is step one. To maximize egg output:
- Upgrade Feeders: Feeders provide higher Corn values per second, keeping your layers continuously satisfied.
- Boost Fertility Gene: Read our Fertility Gene Guide to cut down laying timers from 60 minutes to under 20 minutes!
- Lock Laying Traits in Fusion: When performing Fusion, always lock laying traits like Thunder Roost or Covert Laying onto your highest-level base bird.

Use the in-game index to preview the exact hatch probabilities for each branch of your breeding tree.
Common Questions
Can a single chicken lay multiple egg types? Yes! Breeds like the Viking Chicken can lay both Scratch and Thunder eggs simultaneously.
Do chickens lay eggs while offline? Yes, offline egg production accumulates up to your coop capacity limit!

Why the bridge chicken is the real bottleneck
Every branch of the tree above is gated by a single named chicken rather than by the egg that follows it. That is the key thing to internalise: you do not progress by hoarding eggs, you progress by securing the layer. The Viking Chicken, the Creepy Clown and the Agent Cluck are worth more than any number of eggs they will eventually produce, because without one of them the branch stays closed no matter how much Cash you have. Target the bridge first, then let the eggs accumulate — once a bridge is in your coop, the branch keeps producing on its own, so the hardest step is also the last one you have to think about.
