1. Find a donor with the ability
Some fighters naturally carry a special ability in their trait pool — such as Radiant Fenghuang (Cycle of Ash),Catalyst Hen (Reaction Ring),Kraken Chicken (Abyssal Surge), or Baron Cluck and Golden Goose (Za Warudo / Time Stop), often from rarer egg types like Royal, Colossus, Fortune, Void, or live developer events. Scan your roster and the chicken list for a donor that has one. The ability has to exist on some fighter first.
2. Fuse it onto your base
Start a fusion with your best base fighter and the ability-bearing donor. The base keeps its role and gains the donor's locked trait.
3. Lock the trait, not the flash
On the fuse screen, lock the special ability trait. A special ability that doesn't fit your strategy (like a long cooldown on a quick-farm build) is worse than a clean stat trait. Choose it deliberately.
4. Verify the result
Before fusing, double-check the cost with the resource calculator and read the preview. After fusing, compare the output to the tier list — abilities that move a fighter up a tier are the unlock worth keeping.
5. Choosing an ability for your roster, not the tier list
The best ability for you is the one that fixes your current bottleneck, and that is not always the one at the top of a ranking. A boss-killing special is wasted on an account that cannot afford the level to use it; a farming passive is wasted on a roster that already clears floors comfortably. Match the ability to the job you need done, then match it to a base that can carry it.
6. Where abilities come from
Special abilities are not bought or rolled directly — they are inherited from donors that already carry them. That makes the hunt a roster exercise: the more varieties you own, the more traits you can move onto your carry. It is worth keeping one of every ability-bearing bird you hatch rather than fusing it away, because a donor you discarded is an ability you can no longer transfer. In practice, building a small library of single-trait donors is one of the highest-value habits in the mid-game.
7. The mistake that costs a whole build
The single most expensive error is fusing your only copy of an ability-bearing bird into a carry without checking what you are locking. Fusion consumes the donor, so a wrong lock does not just fail — it deletes the source. Read the preview, confirm the trait, and keep a spare of anything you might want to transfer again later.
One ability per build.
